Director of Maintenance – Sam Vettraino

Sam has been with CAST for over 30 years. Sam began working for CAST as a mechanic helper. Sam’s dedication to his work and experience with CAST enabled him to move into the Director of Maintenance position where he is responsible for ensuring that tractors and trailers are in proper mechanical condition and ready for dispatch.

Sam is responsible for maintaining all equipment. Sam schedules all preventive maintenance and maintains all records and supporting documents as necessary for maintenance files as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Sam is also responsible for all oversights as well as on-the-road service repairs.

CAST’ Transportation’s maintenance facility is equipped to repair and maintain today’s latest technology in Tractors and Trailers. Our shop is a full-service facility from engine rebuilds and power trains to full suspension rebuild & repairs. CAST has some of the finest fabricators in the industry to modify and build trailers & accessories to fit our customer’s needs. CAST’s Henderson facility also maintains a wide range of equipment to support or transload equipment that consists of fork lifts that range from 55, 30, 16, 15, 8, and 6 thousand pound capacities. We also maintain an excavator that operates a magnet for unloading steel grinding balls from gondola rail cars.
